Let me introduce myself and go over a bit of why I created this website.
First, my name is Kurt and I’m in my mid (or more accurately late) 40s, am married and have two kids.
I’ve been involved in Real Estate since the 1980s when my father was an owner/landlord and I was his hired “staff” (aka clean up crew). I learned a lot about tenants, make-ready issues and the nitty gritty behind real estate.
Fast forward a few decades, and now I own a real estate investment company with holdings across several states.
Prior to founding this website, Kurt has been a Financial Manager at a Fortune 100 company. I’ve has had successful careers in marketing, operations, real estate investment, finance management and served as an officer in the military for 11 years.
I’ve studies and hold degrees in both Engineering from an Ivy League institution, along with an advanced Masters of Applied Sciences and has studied extensively with formal coursework as part of a Masters in Business Administration curriculum. In addition to his formal education, he frequently studies macroeconomic and real estate trends and completed education as part of a financial freedom curriculum.
I wanted to create this site in order to document what I’m doing with my family finances and hopefully help others out with the path that I am blazing right now.
Why do this for someone in ones 40s, and why now?
As I write this, I have one in college, one in high school and both my wife and I work. Particularly right now, we are in the midst of “self quarantine” and “social distancing” with the COVID virus and the stock market having crashed and lost over 30% of it’s value in the last 30ish days. What crazy times, huh?
My purpose isn’t to give financial advice per se, but rather document an alternative route I’m taking to juggle all of these financial hurdles.
